May is Fibromyalgia Awareness Month
Date: Saturday – May 18, 2019
Time: 10:00 – 12:00
Fibromyalgia is a debilitating syndrome. Symptoms are musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, stiffness, and distress. This syndrome is typically accompanied with other diseases such as; Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sjorgen’s, thyroid disorders, and Lupus. Yoga is not just an exercise program but a practice that allows you to relax, self-regulate, and regain mindfulness.
First hour of the work shop will be to feel the subtle benefits from a Gentle Yoga practice that incorporates gentle movement with breath and meditation. Assistance with modifications will be provided for you to fully appreciate the effects from the healing holistic gift of Yoga.
Following the Gentle Yoga segment information will be provided on how a Yoga practice is beneficial for continued holistic healing. How integrating breath mindfully during practice and meditation brings self-acceptance, improves self-esteem, relieves stress and reconnects mind with body.
Work shop hand outs to highlight information discussed during the second hour will be provided along with additional resources, an eye pillow to assist with continued relaxation and other helpful items.
